Information We Collect and Its Sources
We may collect:
- Information you provide through campaign forms, such as your name, email address, phone number, address, neighborhood, volunteer interests, endorsement, questions, or comments.
- Survey answers and any optional contact information you provide.
- Contribution records, including name, address, amount, date, and occupation and employer information when legally required. Full payment-card information is processed by our payment provider and is not stored by the campaign website.
- Voter-file information, including voter-registration status and phone numbers voters provided when registering to vote.
- Basic technical information received by the website or service providers, such as IP address, browser or device information, referring pages, and site usage.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- respond to requests and coordinate campaign activities;
- send requested communications and conduct outreach to registered voters;
- process contributions and meet campaign-finance requirements;
- analyze survey responses and understand community views; and
- operate, secure, and improve campaign systems and comply with legal obligations.
Communications and Surveys
If you provide an email address or ask to stay informed, the campaign may send campaign-related email. You may unsubscribe through an email link or by contacting us.
Campaign text messages may be sent to registered voters using phone numbers they provided when registering to vote.
Message frequency may vary and message and data rates may apply. You may reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
Providing a phone number on a general campaign form does not by itself sign you up for campaign text messages.
Survey responses may be summarized or reported in aggregate. Contact information will not be published with your responses, and a written comment will not be attributed to you by name without separate permission.
For program details, see our Text Messaging Terms.
Contributions and Public Records
California campaign-finance law requires the campaign to collect and retain certain contributor information.
Information required to be reported may appear in publicly available campaign-finance filings and may not be eligible for deletion.
Sharing and Sale of Information
We may provide information to service providers only as needed for website hosting, forms, surveys, communications, payment processing, data storage, security, and technical support. We may also disclose information when required by law.
Mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and SMS consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose personal information outside the operations of the campaign, except when required by law.
Retention, Security, and Your Choices
We retain legally required records as required by law and other information only as reasonably needed for campaign operations, security, or legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we may delete or de-identify it.
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no website, form, email, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
You may contact us to ask about or correct information you provided, stop non-required communications, or request deletion of information we are not legally required to retain.
Other Services and Policy Changes
Third-party websites and services have their own privacy practices.
We may update this policy as campaign practices, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated for material changes.
