Liangfang “Liang” Chao, candidate for Foothill-De Anza Board

Students First.Future-Ready Education.Rooted in Community.

Community college should meet students where they are—and help them get where they want to go.

My priorities are to protect strong academics, prepare students for an AI-shaped economy and evolving careers, remove practical barriers, build clearer pathways from K–12 to college to careers, and offer flexible, inclusive learning for students at every stage of life—while remaining accountable to the residents who invest in our colleges.

01

Educator. Technologist. Lifelong Learner.

Education, technology, community, and public service have been recurring threads throughout my life. I have been a university professor, a Silicon Valley technologist, a volunteer K–12 teacher, a grassroots community organizer, a school board member, and a city councilmember. And today, I am a student again.

Public service should be measured not simply by how long someone has served, but by what they have helped accomplish. These selected examples reflect how I work: listening, asking questions, finding practical solutions, and following through.
